Once finished, putting the jig & routing the mortises is FAST, and as correct as the user can be. This won't do mortises on installed jambs, however I bought it to place new doors into current jambs which it excelled at. The company thats makes it makes an attachment to mortise & bore the latch on the door, which Amazon will need to promote and I will unquestionably purchase before the subsequent job the place I even have more than 2 doorways to do. Next time I need to build jambs as neatly, I'll apply it to the hinge & also the strike mortises, which must be a breeze. The most effective factor missing is a pair of 1/8" gauges, which I'll make out of off the shelf 1/8" aluminum attitude. Using them will max out the rate of positioning the jig at my marks.

I am a reworking and repair carpenter, so I do not do manufacturing putting, and nearly always I am placing a new door in an present already hinged jamb. For these job stipulations, this is a superb software. For manufacturing placing, or for mortising already put in jambs, this won't the most productive instrument option.
That stated, the device is excellent. And, with exterior clamping, I've used it efficiently in non-standard state of affairss, such as hinging casement window sash.
