It does what it's purported to and once you learn the instructions, re-read, re-read again, and re-read another time and give it a go, it is quite intuitive how the jig works and produces good consequences. Like differents, you've got to be automotiveeful with the template and best cast off if you finish up absolutely out of the template. I by accident nicked mine, but now not on the high, so the bushing nonetheless works with the template.
Also, be wary of the cheap and ill-constructed 8mm collet reducer incorporated. It slid into my hitachi router and was completely caught. I idea I used to be going to have to purchase a new router, but managed to drill the previous one out (desperate measures!) with out hurting my router. As a substitute collet reducer, I recommend looking for one here on Amazon and you can see the individual who is sturdy, made in the United States, and has an oversized lip so the reducer will not slide too far into the collet. Well well value the minimal funding versus a ruined router.
Reviews for Rockler Complete Dovetail Jig (Misc.) I am a first person of a dovetail jig. I took this heavy tools out of the field and had no clue what to do with it. The directions aren't any suit for the rugged beauty laying within the box.
It seems like this equipment sells so well that they forget the "pride" that needs to be packed together with it. There was a huge malfunction of the template surroundings. The template did no longer transfer evenly on all sides. There used to be a distinction of three/4" between the two aspects. The template did not slide easily out of the slot. I had to undo the nuts and the bolts to get the template out.
My greater problem was once that I had paid $17.00 for delivery and now I needed to spend every different 17.00 to position gasoline in my automobile,to get to the primary Rockler store(80 miles 2 method)and then attempt to show that the equipment had a manufactured-problem. Well this killed the promotional savings.
Yet a a lot larger issue! I bought this at a sale price, however I was once charged full worth. Rockler folks made it my job to prove that the article was on sale at the time of purchase, ahead of I obtained a reimbursement of the variation in price.
